I feel like a total jerk and the bus driver was furious as he honked and flipped me off as I went by. I feel like garbage and am really worried that I might get a misdemeaner for this accident. I live in idaho and do not know the exact rules but im really worried and feel really bad.

oklatom: There was no "accidentally" to it. You said " I tapped my brakes and just decided to keep on going." so it was a decision you made.

But to answer, unless there was a police car there you won't get a ticket. An officer didn't witness your act.

But please don't do it again.

If any of the children, another car, pedestrian, or the bus driver got you license number then you will more than likely get a visit from the police and receive a ticket for not stopping for a school bus. If not one got your license number then you are safe. Believe me that those children do look and try to get your license number. If you are lucky then just never, ever, do this again. Your only other option is to call the police and turn yourself in. This might help reduce the fine if they indeed got your license number. Know that the courts look very harshly on people who do not stop for school buses. The fine in Idaho is no less than $100 and no more than $500. You will also get 4
points on your license which will raise your insurance rates. If you are caught count yourself luck you live in Idaho. In some states the fine can be as much as $10,000 (Indiana) you can also get 25 points on license (Illinois) or loss of your license (New Hampshire) and the worst, jail time (New York).

As a driver you are responsible for following the rules of the road. If you get a ticket, pay it and learn a lesson. 🙂
Think and drive…..

The arm didn't swing out until after the yellow flashers, then the red flashers came on, so your excuse is blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Put the phone down, put two hands on the wheel and two eyes on the road. Everyone on the frikkin planet knows the exact rules except apparently you.

That's not true of course because it happens every day somewhere and most of them don't get tickets either.

It would be treated as a moving violation. Be careful.
