Could you please help me to go toToronto from Amherst, MA by bus or train ?

Mahmuda Sultana:
Option 1:

Take either the PVTA bus (free for UMass students and cheap for everyone else) or the Peter Pan Bus (more expensive) from Amherst to Northhampton, MA. Take the Amtrak from Northampton to Toronto (this will require two or three Amtrak trains; you will have to change trains once or twice).

Option 2:
Take the Peter Pan bus from Amherst to Springfield, MA. Take the Greyhound Lines, Inc., bus from Springfield, MA, to Buffalo, NY. Take the Greyhound Lines of Canada bus from Buffalo, NY, to Toronto.

Option 3:

Take the Peter Pan Bus from Amherst to New York Port Authority Bus Terminal (midtown Manhattan). Take another bus (I think it's either Adirondack Trailways or Greyhound) from New York Port Authority Bus Terminal to Buffalo, NY. Take a third bus (I think it's Greyhound lines of Canada, might be Trailways) from Buffalo, NY, to Toronto.

Seriously if you are over 18 and a UNIVERSITY student.you should be able to look up Amtrak and VIA RAIL for information on trains.

You do not just cross the Border where ever you want. You cross at a bus or train crossing.

You can either head in the Direction of Montreal. Many ways to get there.or you head to either Niagara Falls NY or Buffalo to cross into Canada near Toronto. Many options from New York City. Amtrak to Toronto would be the most Comfortable from Penn Station.

You should know how to get to NYC from where you are. If you cannot figure this out why do you think a Canadian Border guard would let you pass into Canada?

Crossing the Border is a little more than just showing your Identification to the Doorman.

This is the way by train. You can do bus yourself. It is not a direct one bus. You will need to change. Try Boston or Albany as your start point. I assume you know how to get to Boston.and Albany.

Change in NYC to either can also board at Albany
http://www.amtrak.com/adirondack-train Then Via Rail or Bus to Toronto

or

Board Vermonter
Greenfield, MA (GFD)
Northampton, MA (NHT)
Holyoke, MA (HLK)
Springfield, MA (SPG)

You can board the Train to Montreal in Albany NY. I assume a University student could get themselves to there or Boston for the Best travel options to Montreal.
If you look on Campus you might be able to get a ride share to Montreal.
Many students go there for the weekend.

T:
By Amtrak you can take the Maple Leaf to New York and then the Vermonter to Northhampton, MA (very near Amherst), but I doubt that would the quickest way.

Amtrak would be the train. Greyhound would be the bus. get on either of their websites and see if they go to Toronto. Might have to change trains or buses along the way
Marshall:
Check out VIA train schedules and prices and for buses it would be Grey Hound.
