Difference between motor and pump?

Best Answer:

Prashant: motor works on electric energy. so electrical energy converted into mechanical energy. so we got motor output. this motor output is connected to pump to perform action i.e motor shaft rotation is an input to pump to perform linear motion so mechanical energy – rotation is converted to linear movement which get fast linear motion which helps to pick and drop liquid inside the piston & cylinder. so pump perform linear movement. and motor perform rotation movement. so using motor we can achieve pump action otherwise it cant

Other answer:

Motor drives on Electrical Energy. Where as Pump works on Mechanical Energy.
The motor is the driving part of the pump, be it mechanical or electrical.
Motor supplies drive effort. Pump consumes drive effort while shifting liquids.
