Do car rental companies raise their prices the more times you look on their site?

I looked at renting a pickup truck for a week, and I got a price of $249. Went back to check later this afternoon then it doubled! So I left the site and tried the search again, then the truck was up to $1000 for a week! Is this legal? Like what the hell is going on? Same truck, different price everytime at same

Just like airline seats… The fewer seats there are available, the more expensive they get. It's called supply and demand.

Call them and say you saw the quoted price for $249!!
