David: Even though you posted a MOTORCYCLE question in the cycling (BICYCLE) section – I'll answer. As a former store mgr. with Good-Year, I can tell you with 100% certainty your theory is WRONG!
Oil – especially in a high revving engine such as a motorcycle – should be changed often. Mileage isn't oil's only enemy. It's also TIME.
Don't believe me? Look in the owner's manual or ask a reputable dealer. BTW…I ride my bicycle about 1,000 miles in a month and 1/2 to 2 months. If that's all you ride it – sell it.
You're in the Cycling section where questions are answered about bicycles. So unless you have a 4 stroke gas engine kit like I do. Use the Edit icon to move your question to the Motorcycle section. I change my oil after every 25 hours of use.
You should change at least once a year.
YES IT DOES
