Shop left bolts loose after alignment?

i had an alignment done on my 96 crown vic and about 3 weeks later i noticed my left wheel seem to lean inwards, i was looking around under the hood and noticed the two big bolts that hold the upper ball joint to the upper control arm was loose they literally was just sitting there, i'm guessing the shop

i will take it back to the shop but i'm wondering will they give me another alignment free of charge because i'm sure the alignment was knock out and it was the shops fault

Take it back have them re align and tighten the bolts. Happens a lot!! Mechanics are paid a flat rate to fix anything on a car. For instance, if the job calls for 4 hours of labor he gets paid 4 hours if it takes him 2 or 6 hours. So lots of corners are cut, bolts loose or over tightened.

If it is a reputable shop, you should get a free alignment. Sears did an alignment on my GMC, & then I took it for Pa. state inspection — if failed for a bad wheel bearing. That was not Sears fault, but as I felt there was no way they could have done a quality alignment with it like that, they did another one for free.

Have a very serious discussion with them. They just avoided a totally humunguous lawsuit because of your careful inspection of their faulty work. Have them fix it.

Then, unless you are certain that you put the Fear of Goddd into them and straightened them out, find a better mechanic.

Regardless, your first action after they "fix" the problem–at no charge to you–should be to have a different shop inspect the alignment.

You may want to take the vehicle back to the shop but if they refuse to correct have your state's HWY patrol motor vehcile number and call them.

It happens….And YES they should re-align it again for free
thebax2006:
Take it back to the shop and talk with the service manager.

Take it back and have them do it over. FREE
