I am very glad to hear back from you. So as you know from my first e-mail, I am a newly divorcee. I figured a fresh start would do me good, so I packed up and moved to my home town, Omaha Nebraska, with my job, and took the car with me. The deal is handled by eBay Buyer Protection program so I don't have much to do about it. The car is in eBay`s custody at their shipping company in a cargo container, ready to be delivered to its hopefully future new owner. With eBay, you get free delivery and it will arrive at your address in 2 to 3 days. In addition, you will have 5 days to try out prior to making any purchase and if by any reason you find something you don't like about it you can send it back at my expense. I want to make it very clear, that eBay will hold your money, and I won't be receiving a single dollar unless you call and tell them to release the money to me.If you are ready to buy it, please reply with your whole name, address and phone # so I can notify eBay that you are selected as my buyer, and they will contact you right away.
Thank you,
Linda

That screams scam. eBay does not have a shipping company. With eBay you never get free delivery. The shipping is the responsibility of the seller. No exception. Sometimes the seller will offer free shipping but not eBay itself.I don't even need to go on. It's a total and complete scam. There is no car at all. Another red flag is the hotmail address.

Here's a couple more tips for buying your first, or any, car:

Never buy a car sight unseen. Never buy a car without test driving it. Always have a car checked out by a mechanic if you are not "car smart". Never buy a car unless you take possession of the title immediately and once taking possession, make a beeline to the department of Motor Vehicles. If there is a problem with the title you need to know right away so you can demand your money back.

TrucksAreCool:
A huge scam. They want you to send them money. They'll never sign the car over to you and they'll take off with the money. It could even be a stolen car. If you bought it and the title didn't match the VIN, it could be a stolen vehicle. You would be the one who gets in trouble. A 2006 Impala SS is a car that would usually sell for $5,000-$10,000 depending on the mileage and condition. That would be a normal price if it were an ex-police car. Find a different one you like. Be sure to go see it in person. Never meet at a house. Meet at a well-lit and populated area. Take someone with you who really knows about cars. Have them look and listen for major problems. Be sure to test drive it and make sure you like it.

It's a scam I was looking into a 2006 jetta the price was set at 2000 and received an email from that email address linda burgas they sent me the same email about 20 mins ago. I knew then that it was a scam. I'm disappointed that people out there are trying to scam others.

Total scam! There are also ads showing up on Cragislist for home for rent, usually well under market and the same of variation on the story on why you cannot physical contact the seller. Usually they will demand that you send the money via Western Union as it can be picked up anywhere with no paper trail.

in order to find out if it is a scam. Tell them you will be in there area in a few days and would like to see and drive it. Also what address where the car is located. plus the vin number.
PS I did this with a tractor, it was a scam.
FlagMichael:
That is a classic scam. The ebay involvement (ebay warns specifically against that) the price, the personal details.
Ianab:
Has "scam" written all over it….

That's not the way a new divorce sells a used car.

Austin:
Yea that sounds very much like a scam. It's TOO reassuring and has too many "personal" details
STEPHEN:
Shipping for a car? 100% scam.
